The Harwood Unified Union School Board is the governing body of the seven preK-12 schools in our six-town community of Waterbury, Duxbury, Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield and Warren. Fourteen elected members meet about twice a month on Wednesday evenings at Harwood to deliberate on district budget and policies.
In 2020, there will be four seats up for election on the school board, to be filled by residents of Duxbury, Waterbury, Moretown and Waitsfield. Each seat is a three-year term. We encourage you to consider running for the office and have prepared a “Join the Board FAQ” document for those who would like to learn more.
The election is by Australian ballot on Town Meeting Day (March 3, 2020). Prospective candidates must gather a small number of signatures from registered voters in their town on a petition in order to be listed on the ballot. The petition is due to their town clerk by January 27, 2020.
